"Mark" these guys

Poll No. 6

It didn't take long to do mine the Wasatch front for a few hot guys in county government. Thanks for help with the metaphor, Kennecott.

This week, take a gander at Salt Lake County councilmen Michael Jensen and Mark Crockett, Davis County Treasurer Mark Altom, Weber County Attorney Mark DeCaria and Box Elder County Attorney Stephen Hadfield.

So if you're into Marks, we've given you three to choose from. But we threw in a Michael and a Stephen for good measure. Happy voting.

Mark DeCaria

Stephen Hadfield

Don't forget there's still time to vote for the women of the Wasatch Front. There'll be a winner on Friday.

Certified legally hot!

Is there anyone you'd rather be prosecuted by more than Sevier County Attorney Dale Eyre? We didn't think so.

This legal beagle pulled ahead in a neck-and-neck race with Carbon County Sheriff James Cordova to be crowned hottest male county official in central Utah.

When you see Dale walk into the courtroom, you know that his charm and steel-trap legal mind are going to knock your socks off. And you can't take your eyes off of him. But at the end of the hearing, as you're cuffed and led away, he gives you that playful wink to let you know there's no hard feelings, better luck next time, everything's going to be OK.

Dale Eyre
People are committing crimes just to land in court with him.

Don't believe us? Here's what the Leavitt Institute had to say about him when he went to Ukraine in 2006 to teach Jury Trial Education and Training:

"Mr. Eyre has spent approximately ten years both prosecuting and defending criminal cases in the State of Utah...experience in the jury trial system as both a prosecutor and a defense lawyer. That varied experience, coupled with his engaging style will provide a great learning experience for the students enrolled in the program."

So while you're perusing the latest Supreme Court decisions, think of Dale, let him know he's hot, and make sure to vote for the women of the Wasatch Front.

Poll results:
Dale Eyre: 57 percent
James Cordova: 28 percent
Jim Lewis: 14 percent
Richard Waddingham: 0
Steven Burge: 0

The new Wasatch Women

Poll No. 5

And you thought Wasatch Woman magazine had all there is to know about Wasatch women.

Nope.

These hotties have been serving their citizens in the most populated area of the state. Not only do they do a heck of a job, but their beauty serves them as much as they serve the people.

Check 'em out.

From north to south along the Wasatch Front, we have Box Elder County Clerk LuAnn Adams, Weber County Commissioner Jan Zogmaister, Davis County Commissioner Louenda Downs, and a double whammy from Salt Lake County: Clerk Sherrie Swensen and Councilwoman Jenny Wilson.

Watch out, Utah. Most of you have voted for at least one of these ladies.

A "Grace"ful winner

So you voted, and the hottest female county official for central Utah is Millard County Auditor Brandy Grace. As auditor, she's the county's budget officer and has more financial wizardry in her pinky than all of the other auditors in the state combined.

That's what it means to be the hottest: She's making math look cool again.

Brandy Grace
Being audited is a true pleasure.

One time in 2004, she took a quick break from auditing Millard County up and down to answer a few questions for the Utah Association of Counties. The first answer has been updated.

Q. How long have you been in public office?
A. 7 years
Q. What’s one thing you can’t live without?
A. Dr. Pepper
Q. What keeps you motivated?
A. A challenge
Q. Have you ever collected anything? If so, what?

Q. What trait do you most appreciate about people you come in contact with?

The height of southern charm

Everyone loves a man in uniform. And this week, that man is Wayne County Sheriff Kurt Taylor, who won a sweeping victory in our second poll.

Sheriff Taylor, always full of gentility and hospitality, declined to comment on this honor. We understand. It's still a new honor. Check him out one more time, because it's going to be a while until you see this handsome mug in the finals.

Sheriff Kurt Taylor
He can handcuff us anytime!

Poll results:
Kurt Taylor: 50 percent
Art Partridge: 33 percent
Trent Brown: 16 percent

The middle men

Poll No. 4

In our travels around this great state, we've heard some say the male county officials in central Utah are the hotter half of Utah's middle. I guess we'll never know unless you rock the vote in this, our newest poll.

Sevier County Attorney Dale Eyre is challenging a man in uniform, Carbon County Sheriff James Cordova, Grand County Councilman Jim Lewis, Millard County Attorney Richard Waddingham and Carbon County Commissioner Steven Burge.

This is yet another week that we may cause dissension in the ranks as this poll may drive a rift among Carbon County residents. It's all in good fun, folks.

Remember there's still time to vote for your favorite central Utah ladies, and check back tomorrow as we reveal the winner in our second poll.

Southern Utah belle of the ball

When you get a chance, let Garfield County Clerk/Auditor Camille Moore know she's hot. The valiant public servant was too modest to reply to our request for comment, but just so you know, she garnered 76 percent of the public vote to win our first poll.

It was a true landslide victory -- and unprecedented, too.

Thanks to everyone who voted. This isn't the last you'll see of Ms. Moore. She'll be back in a few weeks when we give you, the voter, a chance to select the hottest female county official in Utah.

Remember to tell your friends to vote for the hottest male county official of southern Utah. Results can only be found here next Friday.

Camille Moore
One hot, but humble, winner!

Poll results:
Camille Moore: 76 percent
Carolyn Moosman: 15 percent

Coal miners' daughters?

Poll No. 3

For the past two weeks, we've brought you the hottest county officials from southern Utah, and you've voted for your faves. Now, we're moving north through the state to Utah's nether region.

When you think central Utah, it's easy to think of coal mines, slickrock and rivers. I think we're going to change your perceptions when we show you what central Utah's elected county officials have to offer in our hottest poll yet.

Check out these five wonders:

Vikki Barnett, the Carbon County recorder, is up against Emery County Assessor (another assessor!) Kris Bell, Millard County Auditor Brandy Grace, Sanpete County Clerk Sandy Neill and Millard County Commissioner Kathy Walker.
