You can't hold a candle to...

...Ogden Councilwoman Amy Wicks.

Our 20th Elected Hottie won a major battle of north vs. south over the past two weeks. An aggressive campaign to elect St. George Councilwoman Suzanne Allen got under way shortly after our poll was launched. But Amy had her share of local support, too.

So, what makes Amy so hot? Here we go:
According to her bio, she's been elected twice to the Ogden City Council and is the council's chairwoman. She works for the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome and was interviewed last week by STLtoday. When she's not debating the future of Ogden's water system, she loves (deep breath) snowboarding, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, climbing and whitewater kayaking.

Amy Wicks
A chairwoman in the hot seat!

And you voters really came through for your councilwomen. The poll's 457 votes is an all-time record for Elected Hotties. Amy and Suzanne also broke records for votes cast for a winner and runner-up. Thanks for showing your support to these women.

Update! Suzanne, an awesome sport, left us a note here and added a plug for St. George Councilman Jon Pike.

UPDATE 2: Amy left us this note in response to our congratulatory e-mail:
I've received several awards through the years, mainly for accomplishments or service to my community- but nothing quite like this. I'm really at a loss for words, which for those who know me...is rare. Thank you for this unique and lighthearted honor.

Having been told countless times that I look almost exactly like my mother (except I'm four inches taller) I guess I should give some credit to her. Thanks mom, for giving me your good genes, as well as making me wear sunscreen and begging me to eat my fruits and vegetables.

On a parting note, I'm going to put a plug in here to vote for Paul Cutler of Centerville in the next poll. We are both are Viewmont High School alums from the late 1980's/early 1990's.

Poll results:
Amy Wicks: 41 percent (191 votes)
Suzanne Allen: 36 percent (165 votes)
Marci Satterthwaite: 12 percent (55 votes)
Anna Stanton: 9 percent (43 votes)
Charelle Bowman: .6 percent (3 votes)

Rocking your city's world

Poll No. 21

Elected Hotties is tired. Can you believe this blog has scoured Utah up and down looking for the hottest elected officials in the state. We've looked from Colorado City to Lewiston and from Wendover to Vernal. We even peeked into the state's corners a bit.

But we've finally come to our last semifinal poll: The hottest city councilmen in the state. The ladies' poll is halfway through, so get your votes in. But without further ado, we introduce the hottest men who currently grace the dais every other week.

Who's the man?

As if Farmington needed any help. The place is home to Lagoon, after all. That's what fun is.
But it wasn't what hot is, until now. And you have Farmington Mayor Scott Harbertson to thank.

He's so hot, in fact, that we need a cold shower just to keep writing this.

Scott vanquished the competition with a surprise win over Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker. (audible gasp)

But the people have spoken. And who are we to judge? Well, we're happy judging that Scottie is the latest Hottie.

Scott Harbertson
Hottie for Life!

And if you can show up in the political arena and get elected on your first try, like Scott did in 2005, that's pretty hot.

Poll results:
Scott Harbertson: 53 percent
Ralph Becker: 30 percent
Ron Russell: 9 percent
Joe Thomas: 6 percent

Hot through it all

Poll No. 20

After slaving away at their regular jobs all day, the brave men and women of Utah's city councils gather to debate projects, property taxes and zoning. Occasionally, they have a spat or two with the mayor. Sometimes, they go until the wee hours of the morning with these discussions.

But this group of women manages to keep looking hot through the heaviest of discussions in council chambers. Check 'em out.

Oh, and happy voting, if you decide to, that is.

Hottest female mayor

Not much voter turnout for this poll. What's your problem? We thought that if we actually gave you something to vote for, unlike this year's primary election, you'd turn out in droves. But you didn't, slackers.

Nevertheless, those who voted helped us pick Kaysville Mayor Neka Roundy as Utah's hottest female mayor. This former city councilwoman rose to the office of mayor in 2005 and can be spotted hosting a "Walk With the Mayor" event around Kaysville.

Neka Roundy
Please run in 2009!

Poll results:
Neka Roundy: 60 percent
Lou Ann Christensen: 40 percent

Who will be the next mayor of Hotsville?

Poll No. 19

Most people view their politicians just like their sprinkler system: Set it and forget it. Or in this case, elect them and forget them. Here are four mayors who will urge you, by their sheer good looks, to not forget about them. You don't want to forget about them. You can't forget about them.

You elected them. And you should be glad, because they're hot. Here they are: Your hottest male mayors. Can I get a motion?

Centerville Mayor
Ron Russell

Spanish Fork Mayor
Joe Thomas

Salt Lake City Mayor
Ralph Becker

Farmington Mayor
Scott Harbertson

To the rest of the cities in Utah, please get a website. If you have a website, please post some pics of your elected officials. Photos were hard to come by. All of the other cities in this nation, would you please follow suit?

How hot is your mayor?

Poll No. 18

There's a serious shortage in this state, a shortage of female mayors. But we managed to find a couple of hot ones to go head to head to vie your vote. We're pitting Kaysville Mayor Neka Roundy against Brigham City Mayor Lou Ann Christensen. Have fun. And in the mean time, ladies, please run for office.

Dayton's day

Welcome back from the weekend. Sorry we weren't here for your Elected Hotties fix on Friday. You'll survive, probably.

But what we really need to document is the fact that the venerable senator from Orem, Margaret Dayton, pulled off a sneak-attack win over her younger counterpart from Salt Lake City, Jennifer Seelig.

Best of luck, Margaret. You'll represent the Utah Legislature's women in our poll of Utah's hottest elected officials in a few weeks.

Margaret Dayton, R-Orem
Actually, can we call you Maggie?

Poll results:
Margaret Dayton: 58 percent
Jennifer Seelig: 41 percent

Sen. men

Poll No. 15

This is the Senate, Son. These are the few, the proud, the elite. At any given time, only 29 people hold the title of senator in Utah. As you would expect here in the reddest of red states, 21 of the senators are Republicans.

But when it comes to which senators are elected hotties, we bring you three Repubs and two Dems.

May the hottest man win.

Darin Peterson, R-Nephi

Mark Madsen, R-Lehi

Sheldon Killpack, R-Syracuse

Ross Romero, D-Salt Lake

Scott McCoy, D-Salt Lake

Will the hottest madame senator please stand up?

Poll No. 14

In the mostly male Utah Senate, it's tough to find a few good female hotties. But they're there. Here are our faves and happy voting:

Carlene Walker, R-Salt Lake City

Pat Jones, D-Salt Lake City

Margaret Dayton, R-Orem

The House men

Poll No. 13

Last week, you began diligently voting for the ladies of the Utah House of Representatives. Well, we're not calling it diligent anymore because many of you aren't voting. Six votes!? What is your problem?

We're fair to both genders. But to show you there are no hard feelings (just medium feelings) we're going to bring you another poll to make your heart race.

That's right, it's the male hotties of the House. Check 'em out.

Michael Morley, R-Spanish Fork

David Litvack, D-Salt Lake City

Paul Ray, R-Clearfield

Ladies of the House

Poll No. 12

Don't get us wrong. We love county government. Some say it's the purest form of government there is, but no one knows anything about it. A lot of people think that where laws go down is in the Legislature, so we're happy to showcase the hotties in the Utah House, starting with the ladies.

For the next two weeks, feast your eyes on the following reps:
Karen Morgan, a Democrat from District 46 in Salt Lake City is taking on Lorie Fowlke, a Republican in District 59 in Orem, Jennifer Seelig, a Democrat from District 23 in Salt Lake City, and Christine Johnson, from District 25 in Salt Lake City. May the politicking begin!

Hot guns

Poll No. 9

Yeah, sometimes it seems weird that we vote for sheriffs. But you want to have a guy in your county who knows how to lock people up.

These elected hotties not only do that, but they can get your vote right here because they really know how to wear the uniform.

Check out Summit Sheriff David Edmunds, Iron Sheriff Mark Gower, Piute Sheriff Marty Gleave, Sanpete Sheriff Kevin Holman, Salt Lake Sheriff Jim Winder and the winner from our southern Utah poll, Wayne Sheriff Kurt Taylor.

"Mark" these guys

Poll No. 6

It didn't take long to do mine the Wasatch front for a few hot guys in county government. Thanks for help with the metaphor, Kennecott.

This week, take a gander at Salt Lake County councilmen Michael Jensen and Mark Crockett, Davis County Treasurer Mark Altom, Weber County Attorney Mark DeCaria and Box Elder County Attorney Stephen Hadfield.

So if you're into Marks, we've given you three to choose from. But we threw in a Michael and a Stephen for good measure. Happy voting.

Don't forget there's still time to vote for the women of the Wasatch Front. There'll be a winner on Friday.

The new Wasatch Women

Poll No. 5

And you thought Wasatch Woman magazine had all there is to know about Wasatch women.

Nope.

These hotties have been serving their citizens in the most populated area of the state. Not only do they do a heck of a job, but their beauty serves them as much as they serve the people.

Check 'em out.

From north to south along the Wasatch Front, we have Box Elder County Clerk LuAnn Adams, Weber County Commissioner Jan Zogmaister, Davis County Commissioner Louenda Downs, and a double whammy from Salt Lake County: Clerk Sherrie Swensen and Councilwoman Jenny Wilson.

Watch out, Utah. Most of you have voted for at least one of these ladies.

There's still time to vote on the men of central Utah. We'll reveal the winner on Friday.
